Description
From Geffen you make a beautiful trip through the polder to the Maas. A route full of space, tranquility and sights.
Lith on the Maas
A little later you drive into the polder. You cycle for miles through a sparsely populated and wide area of grasslands and water streams. In Lith you will pass Zeldenrust, a beautiful flour mill from 1800. There is a seventeenth-century house on the Lithsedijk.
Museum pumping station Caners
Further on you will pass the Lithse Ham, a recreational lake created by sand extraction. During the dredging work, the remains of a Roman temple were encountered here. Along the Maas you can enjoy views over the water and flowery floodplains. Museum pumping station Caners is located in a pumping station that served from 1933 to 1979. Among other things, you can admire two authentic machines. De Vlijt is a beautiful flour mill from 1685.
