Cycling through The Hague, Delft and the Westland

This route takes you from Hoek van Holland along the coast to The Hague. You also drive through Rijswijk and Delft. In the Westland, polders, atmospheric villages and surprising nature reserves alternate.

Four Winds
You see many ships passing by on the Nieuwe Waterweg. A little further on you pass Fort aan den Hoek van Holland, built in 1881. Then you cycle many beautiful kilometers along the coast. So close to the beach with the wind (probably) at your back, it is wonderful to pedal. You pass the Vier Winden, a flour mill from 1882.

Staelduinse Bos
Further on you drive into The Hague. You pass through the Zuiderpark, which enjoys a protected cityscape. In Rijswijk you cycle through the Elsenburgerbos, a beautiful city park with steep paths, lawns and rolling hills. In Delft you can enjoy the historic atmosphere, after which you drive into the Westland. You will find some beautiful nature reserves here. Such as the Staelduinse Bos, which is located on a remnant of former estuary dunes. In the nineteenth century it was arranged as an estate.
