On the road through the Kempen-Broek border park

On the border of Belgian Limburg, Dutch Limburg and North Brabant you will find the Kempen-Broek nature park. Take a trip here and enjoy nature that does not care about national borders. This walk takes you through the Mariahof - De Luysen nature reserve.

Watery nature
The route takes you via two detours through the lush forests of the Kempen-Broek nature park. You first walk a bit through the woods on the Dutch side of the border and then you enter Belgium. Here you will find, among other things, the Mariahof - De Luysen nature reserve, a pond area of about 40 hectares. This area is a true paradise for birds and so it is also the place to be if you enjoy bird watching. Three viewing huts have been placed here where bird lovers can go. The Abeek flows straight through this watery nature reserve.

New Vosseven
At the end of your tour you will arrive at the Nieuw Vosseven Naturally Located restaurant. This cozy spot is hidden in the woods of the Stramprooise Heide nature reserve. Situate yourself here to take a break while enjoying lunch, dinner or a cup of coffee and something tasty.

The Stramprooise Heide
West of Stramproy you will find the Stramprooise Heide. This area consists of a number of scattered areas that together form a nature reserve of approximately 32 hectares. The area consists of a former heathland and drifting sand area planted with Scots pine trees. Here and there you will still find small remnants of the heathlands.
