This route takes you through the sea clay polders around Steenbergen. From winding dikes, you'll experience a different kind of Brabant: one with expansive grasslands and numerous waterways.
Streams and creeks. You'll cycle through a landscape that once consisted of creeks and salt marshes. Now you'll ride along winding dikes through vast grasslands and alongside streams and creeks. It's wonderful to rack up the miles here, enjoying the silence, the expansive views, and the gentle breeze.
Fort Henricus. As you cross the Steenbergse Vliet, you look out over the rugged landscape of the Dintelse Gorzen. In the distance lies the waters of the Volkerak. Further on, you pass the site where the former Fort Henricus was built in 1626. A watchtower is planned to be built on the partially restored fort. Steenbergen was a fortified town for almost two hundred years. In the old town, you can still experience a historic atmosphere.
