Description
The Veluwe guarantees a beautiful bike ride. Riding for miles through nature while enjoying the peace and quiet. What more could you want? The route starts at Bospark de Wervelwind. You soon reach the Houtdorperveld, one of the largest heathlands in the Netherlands. You enjoy beautiful vistas as you cycle along the former church path between Speuld and Uddel. In summer, the heath is at its most beautiful, when the purple flowers appear, instantly transforming the field into a purple sea! The Speulderbos is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands. And you can feel that as you cycle through the deciduous trees. How quiet it is here! You pass the Het Hert windmill from 1899. It is the third mill on this site: its two predecessors burned down. Via the Gelderse Vallei, you ride back into the woods towards Garderen.
