From Wanssum through the Het Broek nature reserve

Café van Wieren is the starting point of this route. The landscape around Wanssum consists of beautiful green estates, beautiful walking areas! Put on your walking shoes and enjoy the nature around you. First you walk through the Het Broek nature reserve to Meerlo. The Grote Molenbeek runs straight through this nature reserve and flows into the port of Wanssum. In 2000, the stream regained its meandering character to provide water to the dried-out valleys and agricultural areas. In the forest between Wanssum and Meerlo is the St. Goar Chapel from 1662, one of the oldest chapels found in this region. There used to be a well near this chapel. The 'medicinal water' was used to cure cold fevers. The well has now been demolished.
