From Wanssum through the Het Broek nature reserve

Café van Wieren is the starting point of this route. The landscape around Wanssum consists of beautiful green estates, beautiful walking area! Put on your walking shoes and enjoy the nature around you. First you walk through nature reserve Het Broek to Meerlo. The Grote Molenbeek runs right through this nature reserve, it flows into the port of Wanssum. In 2000 the stream got its meandering character back to provide the dried out valleys and agricultural areas with water again. In the forest between Wanssum and Meerlo lies the St. Goar Chapel from 1662, one of the oldest chapels you will find in this region. There used to be a well at this chapel. The 'healing water' was used to cure cold fevers. The well has now been demolished.
