The Peel
The first part of your route takes you through the transitional area of forest and arable land. Here you see the characteristic landscape of a former extraction area: a beautiful mix of forests, moist soils and agricultural lands. Now that's a nice walk!
Oostappense Heide
A little later you walk into the Oostappense Heide, a wonderfully quiet nature reserve. Ideal to forget about everyday life and completely clear your head. You mainly walk between Scots pines. Here you will also see flying pines and a drifting dune called De Puddingberg. In the surrounding round fields you can spot birds such as tree creeper, goldcrest and even long-eared owl.
