Medieval church
You leave from Restaurant de Oude keuken towards the centre of Castricum. Castricum is very old, it has been continuously inhabited since the early Middle Ages. The medieval village church has been beautifully preserved. The nave is the oldest part of the church, it consists almost entirely of tuff. Historical fact: in 1799 the Battle of Castricum took place, between the French and Dutch on one side and the British and Russians on the other.
