Description
On the edge of Zoetermeer you can enjoy cycling through the wide polders of the Groene Hart. You can enjoy sweeping views and tranquility here! And that in the middle of the Randstad!
New Driemanspolder
The Nieuwe Driemanspolder makes it wonderful to travel for miles. In the hamlet of Wilsveen you will see a monumental farm from 1899. It is a cool example of the characteristic regional longhouse type. Further on you cycle along the Starrevaart. On the left is the former Gemaal de Antagonist, a monument from 1882.
Zoetermeerse Plas
On the right you pass a Molendriegang from 1672. It served for draining the Driemanspolder. The Ondermolen burned down in 1902 due to lightning, and its replacement was built in 1903. The Zoetermeerse Plas was dug for sand extraction. Now you have a wonderful view from the saddle over the rippling water and the surrounding vast polder land. On the north side of the lake you drive through the Prielenbos, a nice rough forest.
