Walking across the Brunssummerheide

Red Brook
The route starts at Brasserie Schuttershüske. Enjoy a terrace here before you walk into the Schutterspark. This varied park was designed between 1920 and 1940. You cross the Roode Beek, which you continue to follow for a while. Peat fluff and sundew grow along the stream. The Roode Beek has its source on the Brunssummerheide, the rolling nature reserve that you walk to. Every now and then you have beautiful panoramas of the surroundings.

Brunssummerheide
Many butterflies flutter at the edge of the heath during the season. With a bit of luck you will hear the 'cowbells' ringing, a sign that the shepherd with his flock of sheep is nearby. A nice sight! In addition to heathlands, you will also see fens and drifting sand. And you walk through coniferous forests, which are sometimes interspersed with native foliage.
