Tour of Noord-Beveland: battle against the water

Peace, space, lots of natural beauty and authentic villages: Noord-Beveland has everything for a varied cycling tour. You drive beautifully along the water, a wonderful fresh air route.

Bird-rich polders
You start at Fietswinkel Kamperland, where you can immediately pick up your rental bike. You then cycle along the Oosterschelde to Colijnsplaat. On the north side of the island there are many inlets: natural polders behind the sea dike. In places where there used to be fear of a dike breach, a reserve dike was constructed inland. The intervening polders grew into wet marshes or reed beds. From the dike you can see many birds here, such as waders.

Colijnsplaat
Colijnsplaat enjoys a protected village view. In the Voorstraat you can enjoy the historic atmosphere through the many beautiful monumental buildings. You will also pass the Nooitgedacht, a flour mill from 1864. Further on is De Ouden Molen from 1727, where grain was ground. It is then wonderful to make kilometers in the vast polders. At the Veerse Meer you have beautiful views over the water and you can get a breath of fresh air.
