The dense forests of the Veluwe hide numerous gems, such as beautiful old sheepfolds. The Speulderbos is a diverse forest where nature is allowed to take its course. It's known as the "forest of dancing trees": only the straight trunks have been felled. In plots of Scots pine, birch, and oak, you'll see a beautiful interplay of light and shadow. In Putten, you'll cycle past the 15th-century village church, a must-see. You'll cross through a rural area above Voorthuizen, back into the dense forests of the Veluwe. Here you'll pass the Boeschoten sheepfold. This elongated, authentic sheepfold houses a flock of sheep that graze the Veluwe and the Speulderbos during the day. In Voorthuizen, stop at Restaurant De Bunckman for a bite to eat or a drink!
