Discover the surroundings of the old sea village of Noordwijk

Museum Noordwijk
The starting point of this route is in the middle of Noordwijk at VVV Noordwijk & Museum Noordwijk. This museum and tourist office is located in a monumental building: the last inner dune farm in the Netherlands. This museum farm gives a good idea of what the fishing village of Noordwijk looked like around 1900. At that time, the beach at Noordwijk was used as a 'seaport' by bomb barges, the boats of coastal fishermen. As a result, the old sea village has become inextricably linked to fishing. Visit the museum and discover the cultural past of the municipality of Noordwijk. In addition to a beautiful collection of traditional costumes and pottery, the museum also shows works of art by artists such as Oswald Wenckebach and Charlotte van Pallandt.

The Dutch Dunes
A little further on you can walk through the Dutch Dunes. This nature reserve has been proposed as a future National Park. Here you walk on winding paths through the unspoilt dune landscape. While walking you can easily get lost in the sheltered forests. Along the way you will probably encounter deer, foxes or rabbits if you look around you carefully.
