Between Heuvelrug and Valley

After boarding, you drive a few kilometers through the Gelderse Vallei. In this vast region it is wonderfully peaceful to cycle along grasslands and beautiful old farms. In the distance you can see the wooded slopes of the Grebbeberg. At the foot of this hill are the Grebbesluis and the associated eighteenth-century earthen defenses. You cross the Lower Rhine with a ferry, and on the other side you drive over winding dikes along the floodplains. After a while, the more than 80 meter high tower of the Cunera Church comes into view. The history of Amerongen Castle dates back to 1286. You can visit the castle. The last part of the route runs through the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. After getting off you can enjoy a delicious meal at House of Bird Kwintelooijen.
