Between Ridge and Valley

After getting on, you will cycle a few kilometres through the Gelderse Vallei. In this vast region it is wonderfully quiet cycling along grasslands and beautiful old farms. In the distance you can see the wooded slopes of the Grebbeberg. At the foot of this hill lie the Grebbesluis and the associated eighteenth-century earthen defences. You cross the Neder-Rijn with a ferry, on the other side you cycle over winding dikes along the floodplains. After a while, the over 80-metre high tower of the Cunerakerk comes into view. The history of Kasteel Amerongen dates back to 1286. You can visit the castle. The last part of the route runs through the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. After getting off, you can enjoy a delicious meal at House of Bird Kwintelooijen.
