Description
The Noordertuin of Antwerp is a beautiful region around Brasschaat, Brecht and Wuustwezel. You will find unique nature reserves and historical sights here.
Small Shooting Field
The route starts just below Wuustwezel, the friendly village you will cycle through a little later. You then drive through a rural area of fields, grasslands, beautiful old farms and chapels. The Klein Schietveld is an unspoilt nature reserve that is partly accessible. This former shooting range was established in 1820 when Belgium was part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. After the shooting range was closed in 1894, a military camp was built.
The Weft
Further on you drive between two parks in Brasschaat. On your right is De Inslag, an old country estate. De Mik is a former arboretum. There are still beautiful old trees in both parks. You drive along a largely car-free track along the Antwerp-Turnhout canal through Sint-Job-in-\\\'t-Goor. After a few kilometers the houses give way to the forests that belong to the Brechtse Heide. You pass through Brecht, a village worth seeing with cozy terraces. Time for a pint!

The Noordertuin of Antwerp is a beautiful green area to the north of Antwerp. Get on your bike or put on your walking shoes and hit the road in this area to completely unwind a stone's throw from the busy city. Hidden among the greenery are special forts from the First World War and you will find many more beautiful things here.
