Description
Fancy a nice walk? Go out in nature reserve Het Schuitwater and experience how wonderfully quiet it is here. You will also pass through Broekhuizen, a charming village on the Maas.
The Schuitwater
Soon you walk into the Schuitwater nature reserve: a varied landscape of forests and moist grass and hay meadows, formed around the remains of some old Maas arms.
The maas
You continue to the Maas, a beautiful route through the green. With a view of the nice Arcen on the other side of the river you walk to Broekhuizen. Here you will see a few beautiful monumental buildings, such as the eighteenth-century Brouwershuis on the Veerweg and the Sint-Nicolaaskerk from 1500. You walk back to your starting point via the drier northern part of the Schuitwater, along vast moors. What a beautiful varied route!
