Tour Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Gelderse Vallei and Amersfoort

The route starts at Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten on the edge of Soesterberg. A good starting point, because that way you immediately start in the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. In this rolling landscape it is wonderful to make kilometers through alternating deciduous and coniferous forests. You will also pass through beautiful Amersfoort. In the Gelderse Vallei you drive through Woudenberg and Veenendaal, two beautiful places where you can admire a lot of heritage. Get off in Renswoude at Bike Totaal Van Wijk Cycling. At the foot of the ridge you pass Den Treek, an estate whose history dates back to the fourteenth century. Further on you drive along the Valley Canal, a watercourse that formed an important part of the Grebbe Line. You can still see some old casemates.
