Description
Windmills, water and vast polders: you can experience it with this route through the Alblasserwaard. You also take a piece of the Biesbosch with you. From the edge of Dordrecht you cycle to Landgoed Dordwijk, which was built around 1635. At the entrance you will see a castle farm that partly dates back to the foundation time. The Alblasserwaard is a vast polder area that mainly consists of meadows that are crossed by numerous ditches. It is wonderful to cycle here on the meandering dikes along canals and rivers. Along the Alblas in Alblasserdam and Bleskensgraaf you can enjoy the atmosphere of times gone by.
