Straight through forests and dunes near Rockanje

Ancient creek
The route starts at Restaurant Paviljoen De Meidoorn, in the middle of the Voornes Duin nature reserve. A beautiful place to have a drink and something to eat before cycling through the varied natural beauty to Rockanje. From here you cycle through the dunes and forests of the nature reserve. Further on you pass the Rockanje, a beautiful white flour mill from 1718. Further on you drive past Meertje de Waal, a nature reserve of grasslands, reeds and swamp forests. This area originated around the Strype, an ancient creek.

Tenellaplas Visitor Center
At junction 31 you can take a look at the fortress of Brielle, one of the best preserved defense structures in the Netherlands. Before you drive into picturesque Oostvoorne, you will pass a flour mill from 1821: Molen Oostvoorne. A little further on, take a look at the native park at the Tenellaplas Visitor Center: you will find all the biotopes from Voornes Duin together. Then you return to Restaurant Paviljoen De Meidoorn. Relax there for a well-deserved snack and a drink.

Museum in den Halven Maen
Along the way you can take a look at Museum in den Halven Maen. Here you will find all kinds of nostalgic utensils and, among other things, an old grocery shop. You really feel like you're back in times gone by here. Immediately stock up on some tasty sweets at the old-fashioned sweet shop.
