Cycling route: 613885
Provided by: route.nl
Your cycling route starts at Kruijswijk Tweewielers. You'll cycle straight through Castricum to Uitgeest. At the Uitgeestermeer lake, you'll arrive on the Lagendijk, passing the Tweede Broekermolen (Second Broeker Mill), a windmill built in 1631. It's one of the five mills that drained the Uitgeester and Heemskerkerbroek polders. You'll also cycle past three forts from the Defence Line of Amsterdam, such as Fort aan den Ham, which houses a museum. The landscape at the North Sea Canal suddenly changes dramatically. An entire dune area was excavated by hand for the canal's construction. In IJmuiden, you'll cross the water by ferry; who knows what large ships you'll see up close!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
