You first set course for the beautiful old village of Beekbergen. Nearby, in Lieren, you might see the historic steam train that shuttles between Apeldoorn and Dieren. You follow Kanaal Zuid to the Middelste Molen: a water mill from 1887, now a paper factory and museum. Then you drive back into the vast forests of the Veluwe to Loenen. You take in a bit of the Veluwezoom, also a National Park, before you slowly turn back towards the gate of De Hoge Veluwe National Park in Hoenderloo. The route leads you right through the rolling heathland and forests. During the weekend you can visit Museum Air Base Deelen along the way.

De Middelste Molen

The Middelste Molen is a paper mill on the Loenense beek. The current mill was built in 1887 and paper is still being made with this mill. It is the only working paper mill in the Netherlands that still uses hydropower.
