You first set course for the beautiful old village of Beekbergen. Nearby, in Lieren, you might see the historic steam train that commutes between Apeldoorn and Dieren. You follow the South Canal to the Middelste Molen: a watermill from 1887, now a paper factory and museum. Then you drive back into the vast forests of the Veluwe to Loenen. You take in a bit of the Veluwezoom, also a National Park, before you slowly bend towards the gate of De Hoge Veluwe National Park in Hoenderloo. The route leads you right through the rolling heathland and forests. On the way you can visit Museum Vliegbasis Deelen during the weekend.

The Middelste Molen is a paper mill on the Loenense beek. The current mill was built in 1887 and paper is still being made with this mill. It is the only working paper mill in the Netherlands that still uses hydropower.
