In Zuidschermer you can admire the Zwarte Kerkje from 1665, one of the few remaining bell-shaped churches. On the Hoornse Vaart you will pass four monumental windmills from 1630. On the left you look out over the Oudorperhout, a unique meadow area in the middle of the city. In the centre of Alkmaar you can enjoy the historical atmosphere, after which you can take a look at the Pulpit, an old moraine. According to tradition, the monk Willibrordus preached here centuries ago to spread Christianity. In Egmond aan den Hoef you pass a castle ruin.
