Sea, extensive dune forests and bulb fields: you will find it around Castricum. In Egmond aan den Hoef you will become acquainted with the heritage of Egmond Castle.
North Holland Dune Reserve
This nature reserve consists of a variety of dune tops, bushes and unprecedented silence. You can buy your entrance ticket at one of the entrances with PIN or credit card. The website of administrator PWN explains how to do this using your smartphone.
Egmond Castle
The stately surroundings of Egmond Castle in Egmond aan den Hoef enjoy a protected village view. There was a fortress here from 1129 to 1798. In the 1930s the remains were found in the swamp and can still be viewed. The thirteenth-century castle chapel is still standing! In the rural area of Limmen, the many bulb fields add extra color to your route. You will cover the last kilometers in the North Holland Dune Reserve.
