Blow out in the Achterhoek

The route starts at the vineyard and Uutbloas stop Hofstee De Vennebulten, a unique spot in the Achterhoek region. Hop on your bike and immediately cycle into the characteristic Achterhoek landscape of meandering streams, hedgerows, and small-scale forests. Everywhere you look, you'll see beautiful, authentic Saxon farmhouses. Just below Winterswijk, you'll cycle through Bekendelle, a beautiful old forest dominated by alder, ash, and oak trees. Winterswijk is a surprisingly pretty town, with many historic buildings. You'll pass, among other things, the Jacobuskerk (St. James' Church) from 1869. In the countryside, you'll cycle through Vragender, a small church village built on a moraine and therefore significantly higher than the surrounding area. Here stands the Vier Winden, a corn mill built in 1958. Just before dismounting, you'll pass Hermien, a magnificent corn mill dating from 1819.
