Picturesque Drimmelen
The route starts at the cozy marina in Drimmelen. Drimmelen is a charming town that enjoys a protected village view. For example, on the old Herengracht you will see the Reformed Church from 1792. Here you will also see a typical ribbon development with beautiful eighteenth- and nineteenth-century houses. What a nice atmosphere!
Old Drimmelen
Next to the Breede Vaart you walk through the polder to Oud-Drimmelen, a hamlet that consists of 9 houses. You pass De Moer, a former polder mill from 1911 that now serves as a home. Then you walk past two creek remnants that were created by the St. Elisabeth Flood of 1421. First you walk a few kilometers along the natural Zwaluwse Haven. At the end of it is Gat van den Ham. You walk back to Drimmelen along the Amer.
