Drimmelen is a beautiful village on the banks of the Amer in North Brabant. Ideal to explore on foot. In the countryside you can walk along the Amer and through the polders.
The route starts at the cozy marina in Drimmelen. Drimmelen is a charming town that enjoys a protected village view. On the old Herengracht you can see, for example, the Reformed Church from 1792. You can also see a typical ribbon development with beautiful eighteenth and nineteenth century houses. What a nice atmosphere!
Next to the Breede Vaart you walk through the polder to Oud-Drimmelen, a hamlet that still consists of 9 houses. You pass De Moer, a former polder mill from 1911 that now serves as a residence. Then you walk along two creek remnants that were created by the St. Elizabeth's flood of 1421. First you walk a few kilometers along the natural Zwaluwse Haven. At the end of it lies Gat van den Ham. Along the Amer you walk back to Drimmelen.
