Cycling through the area of Nieuwkoop

You unscrew your legs along the Kromme Mijdrecht. On the other side of this river you can see the Westveense Molen, a polder mill from 1676. Buurtschap Woerdense Verlaat was built at the sluice in the Grecht, which was already constructed in 1448. The route then leads you through the polder with its elongated grasslands and ditches. Zegveld was only opened up in the 1960s due to the construction of good roads. You can still experience the authentic atmosphere of the past here. The Meijepad runs right through the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, from where you have a beautiful view of this unique nature reserve. Bee  You drive back to the parking lot along the Kromme Mijdrecht.
