Cycling through the Nieuwkoop area

You loosen your legs along the Kromme Mijdrecht. On the other side of this river you see the Westveense Mill, a polder mill from 1676. The Woerdense Verlaat neighborhood was built near the lock in the Grecht, which was built in 1448. The route then leads you through the polder with its elongated grasslands and ditches. Zegveld was only opened up in the 1960s through the construction of good roads. Here you can still experience the authentic atmosphere of the past. The Meijepad runs straight through the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, offering beautiful views of this unique nature reserve. At  You drive back to the parking lot along the Kromme Mijdrecht.
