Description
Maurik is a nice village in the Betuwe. Ideal for exploring on foot. In the countryside you can walk between the many orchards and through the vast river landscape. So plenty of variety!
Beijenkorf
In Maurik you walk through the old village center. Here you pass the Reformed Church from the seventeenth century and the beautiful presbytery. Further on you will pass De Beijenkorf, a flour mill from 1873. Until the restoration in 2006, the mill was called De Hoop.
Island of Mauritius
It is nice and quiet to walk between the many fruit orchards and meadows. Ideal to leave the everyday hustle and bustle behind. You can get a breath of fresh air on the Rijnbandijk, while enjoying beautiful views over the water. In the distance you can see the recreation area Het Eiland van Maurik. You also regularly pass a beautiful old farmhouse. The route ends at the parking lot in Maurik.
