Description

The ground at the stream is quite moist, you walk here between species such as black alder and ash. Further on is the ancient Terborgh Castle. Around the eighteenth century, members of the infamous De Bokkenrijders were imprisoned in this former moated castle. Now there is a guest house. You can have a drink or a bite to eat here. Further on you pass the Mulderplas, a former swamp area where the State Mines once discharged the polluted rinsing water that was used to wash the coal. From Brasserie De Muldermolen you walk up the Krekelberg, a hill more than 100 meters high. Above Schinnen you enter the Wolfhagerbos, this poplar and willow forest is intersected by the stream Kakkert. Brasserie Abshoven is the last pit stop you will find on the route.
