The ground at the stream is quite moist, you can walk between species such as black alder and ash. Further on is the ancient Terborgh Castle. Around the eighteenth century, members of the infamous De Bokkenrijders were locked up in this former moated castle. Now a guest house is located there. You can have a drink or a bite to eat here. Further on you pass the Mulderplas, a former wetland area where the Staatsmijnen once discharged the polluted rinse water that was used to wash the coal. From Brasserie De Muldermolen you walk up the Krekelberg, a more than 100 meters high hill. Above Schinnen you enter the Wolfhagerbos, this poplar and willow forest is intersected by the stream Kakkert. Brasserie Abshoven is the last pit stop you will find on the route.
