Nice long route over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

After you have jumped on the saddle, you cycle straight into the seemingly endless forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. It is of course not without reason that so many country houses have been built on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. It has been wonderful to enjoy nature here for centuries. At Bunnik you will see Fort Rijnauwen from 1869. With 32 hectares, this was the largest fortress of the New Dutch Waterline. On the edge of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, below Amersfoort you will pass the old Den Treek estate with its beautiful monumental buildings. Further along the Zeisterweg you will pass the Pyramid of Austerlitz, a lookout tower. You also pass Austerlitz, a village that arose in the early 1800s around an army camp of French soldiers.
