Stevensweert is a former fortified town that you can easily explore on foot. You can also take a tour through the natural beauty around the Molenplas. Make sure you wear waterproof shoes, the path can be damp here!
Picturesque Stevensweert
You will experience a wonderful atmosphere in the historic core. You will see, among other things, the St. Stephen's Church, which dates from 1781. On the Maasdijk you have a beautiful view over the river, on the other side of the water is Belgium. What a beautiful village this is!
Molenplas
The Molenplas was created by gravel extraction. There is now plenty of natural beauty to be found along the banks. You will see shrubs such as hawthorn, but also small forests of willows and alders. Between the Juliana Canal and the lake there is a strip where countless daisies bloom in the spring. From the viewpoint you have a beautiful panorama. On the right you see the tree monument: black oak trunks that were buried by Maas gravel 2000 years ago and emerged during gravel extraction!
