Discover the Hoeksche Waard I

The port of Oud-Beijerland is located in the center with characteristic housing, nice facades, shops and restaurants with beautiful terraces. Along the banks of the Spui and the Oude Maas you pass the Klein Profijt nature visitor center, which is also a "TOP" location with permanent and changing exhibitions. Salmon fishing was practiced here until 1919. The route is characterized by an open and wide landscape. Here you will find winding creeks, meandering dikes with trees and endless views. Characteristic polder roads lead you to beautiful villages and stately old farms. That is why the Hoeksche Waard is a National Landscape. The route takes you past the beautiful Binnenbedijkte Maas (Binnenmaas) and several windmills of the Molens Binnenmaas Foundation . The mills can be visited for free on Saturdays or by appointment.
