Tour of Schouwen-Duiveland and Zierikzee

On the dike along the Grevelingenmeer you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the view over the water. You pass through Brouwershaven where you can enjoy the old buildings within the former ramparts. Further on you drive along the Slikken van Bommenede, a bird-rich nature reserve. Then you cycle to the beautiful Zierikzee for a cup of coffee at Café De Gekroonde Suikerbiet. Take a look at the old North and South Port gates on the Oude Haven, two of the three remaining city gates of Zierikzee. Just past Moriaanshoofd you drive along the Prunje, the oldest polder on the island. The former swamp was drained centuries ago. With the'Tureluur\\\' Plan, however, the Prunje has been returned to nature. Bring binoculars if you like to spot birds!
