De Linge
Once you cross the Lower Rhine, you will immediately see the many fruit orchards for which the Betuwe is known. Beautiful in the spring with the blossoms, or in the late summer when the fruit hangs on the branches. Just past Kesteren you cross the Linge, at 108 kilometers one of the longest rivers that has its source in the Netherlands. In IJzendoorn you can take a look at the beautiful fourteenth-century village church.
Floodplains
From the winding dike you have a beautiful view of the Waal and the moist grasslands of the Ochtense Buitenpolder and the Hiense Uiterwaarden. In Andelst you will pass the village church, whose Romanesque nave dates from the eleventh century. You cross the Betuwe again, after which you cross the Lower Rhine. From a distance you can see the Grebbeberg coming closer. After the climb you will probably feel like having something tasty at Pannekoekhuis de Grebbeberg.
