From Rhenen through the Betuwe

Cross the Neder-Rijn at Rhenen and you will drive straight into the Betuwe. This will be an enjoyable cycle through a sparsely populated area with old, cosy villages.

The Linge
Once you have crossed the Neder-Rijn, you will immediately see the many orchards that the Betuwe is known for. Beautiful in the spring with the blossom, or in the (late) summer when the fruit hangs from the branches. Just past Kesteren you cross the Linge, with 108 kilometers one of the longest rivers that has its source in the Netherlands. In IJzendoorn you can take a look at the beautiful fourteenth-century village church.

Floodplains
From the winding dike you have a beautiful view over the Waal and the damp grasslands of the Ochtense Buitenpolder and the Hiense Uiterwaarden. In Andelst you pass the village church, the Romanesque nave of which dates back to the eleventh century. You cross the Betuwe again, after which you cross the Neder-Rijn. From a distance you see the Grebbeberg coming closer. After the climb you will definitely feel like something tasty at Pannekoekhuis de Grebbeberg.
