Tour of Hauwert, Medemblik and Enkhuizen

Your route begins at the Garden Discovery Garden. You'll cycle through the historic center of Enkhuizen, the Streekbos, and the Weelen nature reserve towards Medemblik. From the saddle, you'll regularly have views over the waters of the IJsselmeer. Medemblik was once a prosperous port city. This rich history is still reflected in the many beautiful facades. In West Friesland, you'll find plenty of panoramic views and cultural history. Cycling through the expansive polders is wonderfully peaceful. You'll regularly see a characteristic farmhouse. In 't Westeinde, you'll pass the former Twisk Station from 1887, a stop on the Hoorn-Medemblik railway line that operated from 1887 to 1936. For example, stop at the beautiful 15th-century St. Nicholas Church in Hauwert.
