Get a breath of fresh air on South Beveland

On Zuid-Beveland you can get a breath of fresh air at the Veerse Meer for a day. In the old polders you cycle through characteristic Zeeland villages such as's Heer-Arendskerke and Wolphaartsdijk.

Middle plates
The first kilometers you drive along the banks of the Veerse Meer. In the water you can see Middelplaat, a few islands that are only inhabited by birds and a herd of grazing Haflinger ponies. You will also pass through the woods of De Piet.

Sand creek dam
After you have passed the monumental lock at Sluis de Piet, you drive into the vast polder. From afar you can already see De Hoop: a flour mill from 1808 in Wolphaartsdijk. Further on is the Nooit Gedacht, a flour mill from 1872. In's Heer-Arendskerke you pass the characteristic old ring road. In the center is the fifteenth-century village church. Via the Zandkreekdam, the second Delta structure, you arrive at Noord-Beveland.
