This route takes you through the polders west of Middelburg. You also drive through some old villages that are worth seeing along the North Sea coast. First you pass through the pleasant Zoutelande. Then you cycle many kilometers along the leafy paths behind the North Sea dunes. From a distance you can see the Westkapelle Hoog, the highest lighthouse in the village, almost 50 meters high. It's nice to travel for miles in the polders. In Grijpskerke you pass't Welvaaren, a flour mill from 1801. Just past junction 21 you pass't Munnikenhof, a former country estate where Jacob Cats wrote most of his poems in the seventeenth century. De Biggekerke is a polder mill from 1712. The route ends at Holiday Park De Meerpaal: a unique accommodation address where you are also welcome for a coffee or meal.
