Get a breath of fresh air at Voorne-Putten

At Voorne-Putten you can get a breath of fresh air on the wide beach. But you also enjoy the silence in Voornes Duin, the space in the polder and the rich cultural history.

Voornes Dune
The route starts at Bed & Breakfast van Marion, a wonderful place to stay in Voornes Duin. The first kilometers you drive along the banks of the Voornse Meer: a nice way to warm up. A little later you cycle into Voornes Duin, one of the most species-rich dune areas in Western Europe. You will find dunes, flowery dune grasslands, moist valleys and dune forests. You experience a surprising amount of peace here, despite the fact that Voorne lies under the proverbial smoke of Rotterdam.

Den Briel
You pass the Rockanje, a beautifully restored flour mill that originally dates from 1718. You will also pass Museum in den Halven Maen, where you can take a wonderful leap back in time. As in Brielle, the largely seventeenth-century fortress is one of the best-preserved defenses in the Netherlands. Just before the end of the route you pass the Molen Oostvoorne, a corn mill from 1821. What a beautiful day of cycling!
