Wenum-Wiesel is a picturesque twin village just above Apeldoorn. Put on your walking shoes to enjoy the sights, the natural beauty and the tranquility that you will find here.
Wenum Mill
Soon you will pass a nice place to stop: the Wenumse Molen, a beautiful fourteenth-century watermill on the Wenumse Beek. This has served as a corn mill, but also as a copper mill. It is a monument, just like the associated miller's house from 1882.
Picturesque Wiesel
You walk towards Wiesel via a leafy footpath. You walk a bit along the edge of the park of the nearby Het Loo Palace with its extensive forests. Beautiful in every season! The charming Wiesel, a little further on, enjoys a protected village view. The employees of Paleis het Loo used to live here. Every year, during the first weekend of September, the Oranjefeest is celebrated in Wiesel to commemorate Queen Wilhelmina's birthday.
