Cycling through the polders around Vinkeveen

The route starts at Café-restaurant Bon, an ideal spot to unwind at the Vinkeveense Plassen. From here you can cycle straight into the polder. From the dike you have a beautiful view of the vast landscape and the rippling water of rivers such as De Winkel and De Waver. Every now and then you see a characteristic monumental farm on the dike. What a wonderful area to cycle through! In the old centre of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel you cycle past many monumental buildings. Here you experience a beautiful piece of Dutch cultural history. After cycling along the meandering Amstel for a while, you pass the Waverhoek nature reserve: a surprisingly quiet spot so close to Amsterdam. Via the picturesque Vinkeveen and Baambrugge you cycle back to Café-restaurant Bon.
