A beautiful walk at the Vinkeveense Plassen

Grab your walking shoes from the closet and come to the Vinkeveense Plassen. With this route you enjoy views over water and the many historic buildings in Baambrugge. The route starts at Café-restaurant Bon, an ideal place to relax at the Vinkeveense Plassen. Along the leafy quay you can experience the characteristic atmosphere of Vinkenkade, the hamlet you walk through. In Baambrugge you see many eighteenth-century monumental buildings, such as on Dorpsstraat. It seems as if you are walking back in time here. It is wonderful to walk in the countryside. You will see some old farms here. Just before junction 24 you pass the place where Abcoude Castle stood for centuries until 1860. The foundations and (restored) moat are still visible. Fort aan de Winkel is located at junction 25: a never-completed defense structure from the Defense Line of Amsterdam.
