Description
Two gems await you on the Lek: the beautiful old towns of Culemborg and Vianen. It is also wonderful to cycle along the flower-rich grasslands on the river. From the dike you can see Fort Honswijk from 1844, which is part of the New Dutch Waterline. Vianen is a beautiful former fortified town with a historic cityscape. You will drive past the Hofpoort, the only remnant of the former Batestein castle that burned down in 1696. The fifteenth-century town hall and the Lekpoort are also beautiful! You cycle through the polder back to the beautiful old city center of Culemborg.
