A beautiful route through the Bulb Region

In the Bollenstreek region, you'll cycle for miles through colorful fields. A beautiful area interspersed with historic towns and panoramic views along the Kagerplassen lakes.

Kagerplassen
The Lisserpoelmolen is the first attraction on your route. This beautiful national monument dates from 1676. Further on, you'll pass the Kagerplassen: twelve peat lakes dotted with a few islands. The lakes are fringed by canals and reed ditches. Beautiful to look at, they also hold cultural and historical significance due to their characteristic land division pattern.

Historic Noordwijk
You'll cycle through the polder towards Leiden. You'll cycle through the watery countryside, such as along the banks of the Klinkenberger Plas lake. You'll pass the Hoop Doet Leven (Hoop Doet Leven), a polder mill dating from 1783. While Noordwijk may be known as a seaside resort, the old town center boasts many unique monuments that reflect the rich history of this former fishing village. One of Noordwijk's oldest buildings is the Gothic Oude Jeroenskerk (Old Jeroen's Church) from the fifteenth century. A beautiful sight!
