A beautiful route through the Bulb Region

In the Bulb Region you cycle for miles through colorful fields. A beautiful environment that alternates with historic towns and views along the Kagerplassen.

Kagerplassen
The Lisserpoelmolen is the first attraction on your route. This beautiful national monument dates from 1676. Further on you drive past the Kagerplassen: twelve peat lakes with several islands. The lakes are bordered by canals and reed ditches. Beautiful to look at, but also cultural-historically valuable because of the characteristic allotment pattern.

Historic Noordwijk
You drive through the polder towards Leiden. Here you cycle through the watery countryside, such as along the banks of the Klinkenberger Plas. You will pass the Hoop Doet Leven, a polder mill from 1783. Noordwijk may be known as a seaside resort, but in the old center the many special monuments testify to the rich history of this former fishing village. One of the oldest buildings in Noordwijk is the Gothic Oude Jeroenskerk from the fifteenth century. A picture!
