Tour of the Brabantse Wal

You start at the Visitor Centre Natuurpodium, just outside Bergen op Zoom. This visitor centre is located on the centuries-old Lievensberg Estate. Here you will find a landscape of forest, heath and meadows. From junction 31 you cycle into the Mattemburgh Estate, planted around 1850. Two garden styles are represented in the park: the playful English Landscape Style and the strict French Style. In Hoogerheide it is time for a refreshing stop at Het Raedthuys. Enjoy a delicious meal before exploring the Brabantse Wal around Ossendrecht. Here you can clearly see how the high forested sandy soils transition into lower sea clay polders. You cycle through the forests to Huijbergen, here you pass the Johanna corn mill from 1862. Finally, you cycle through Zoomland, a forest where you see marsh and old oak and beech avenues.
