Artists
You walk through the green of the beautiful Veluwe to Wolfheze. The village arose around the station at the end of the nineteenth century, when Baron van Brakell of Doorwerth Castle made land available for the construction of the 'Rhijnspoorweg'. In return he wanted his own stop. The station has seen many special guests come and go: painters at that time were looking for rugged nature and they found it around Oosterbeek and Wolfheze.
Psychiatry
Psychiatric patients have been treated in Wolfheze for more than 100 years. The beautiful little Historical Museum Wolfheze is recommended if you want to know more about the history of psychiatry. You will learn all kinds of anecdotes: the site was bombed in 1944 - by the English.
