Description
A nice route along (and over!) the water along many beautiful places. Marken, Volendam, Monnickendam - you keep getting off here. A beautiful route along typical Dutch places! You can hear the rippling water of the Markermeer while you enjoy yourself in one of the cozy houses. Over the dike that connects the island to the mainland you cycle to Marken, a typical fishing village with characteristic wooden houses on poles. Then you take the ferry to Volendam, you have to have been here once. The fishing village is of course known for its authentic costumes, so definitely take a look around. Via the Fort bij Kwadijk you cycle to Monnickendam and then you end up in Uitdam again.
