Cycling around Kalmthout in Belgium is wonderful. In the woods, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and fresh air, and in the villages along this route, there's plenty of cultural history to discover. In Nispen, you'll pass De Molen van Aerden, a belt-driven windmill. Built in 1850, it was once used as a corn mill. Along the way, stop off at Brasserie De Bosrust! Here, you're immersed in the boundless nature along the Belgian-Dutch border. Above Kalmthout, you'll come across a charming spot: the Bakkersmolen (Bakers' Mill) and the Steam and Bakery Museum. The Beekeeping Museum is also worth a visit. In Putte, you'll cycle right along the border, on the evocative Grensstraat (Grens Street). Cycle back to your starting point through the rolling, green landscape of the Brabantse Wal.
