From Renesse to the Oosterschelde

From Renesse it is wonderful to cycle through the polders on Schouwen-Duiveland. This route takes you to the banks of the Oosterschelde National Park. A nice place to get some fresh air.

Renesse
The route starts at Hotel Blooker in Renesse, a hotel where everything revolves around cycling and relaxation. You cycle towards Burgh-Haamstede, first cycling past 't Huys Grol. The history of this former country estate dates back to 1599, the current building dates from the eighteenth century. After cycling through Burgh-Haamstede, you will come across the Plompetoren, an old church tower from 1468, along the water. You can climb it for a unique view of the area. From there you cycle through the De Schelphoek nature reserve.

Mill 't Hert
Further on you will see Molen 't Hert, a corn mill from 1748. On top of this mill there is a weather bar in the shape of a deer, hence the name. Further on you will pass Molen de Lelie, a flour mill from 1868.
