Description
From Leersum you can walk straight into the woods of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Put on your walking shoes for a wonderful trip full of natural beauty, silence and cultural history.
High street house
You immediately walk into the woods that grow on and around the Darthuizerberg. You make a small climb, while you walk between the nice fresh smelling conifers. Delicious! You pass Huize de Hoogstraat in the middle of the forest. One of the many country houses in this region, although this residence was only built in 1949.
Museum Valkenheide
You will also pass the building of Museum Valkenheide. Just before the end of your route you can admire the Owl Tower: a striking folly from 1904 that stands on the highest point of Lombok Hill (34 meters). You can climb the tower.
