Description
Around Oostkapelle you can enjoy cycling through the Zeeland polders. You also drive a bit through nature reserve De Manteling. Along the way you will take in some sights, such as characteristic farms and country estates.
The Mantle
From the starting point you can cycle straight into the quiet woods of De Manteling. Hardly anywhere else in Europe do deciduous trees grow so close to the coast as here. But with a price: many trees are no higher than one meter. Their wings are clipped by the cutting westerly wind and the drifting salt. You pass the Duinbeek estate, whose history dates back to the fourteenth century. The current classicist country house dates from 1715.
