Tour of Giethoorn and Weerribben

Your route starts at Residence de Eese. You first cycle through the fortified town of Steenwijk, a beautiful old town. You will soon enter the Weerribben, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. What a wonderful area! No matter how pristine and natural the environment looks, every square meter is made by human hands. On the Hoogeweg you can still see a dyer's house from the time of the peat diggers. In the middle of Dwarsgracht you can admire one of the thickest and oldest ash trees in the Netherlands, the tree was planted around 1800. From the cycle path you will soon have a beautiful view over the Beulakerwijde. A little later you will be amazed in Giethoorn: in the Venice of the North you will love to squeeze your brakes!
